ok so this is the adobe photoshop .psd file of one of my pictures. this was done using a reference picture, which is imbedded in the file. i think this is the best way to get started doing vectors
i put up another one awhile back and i think that its my most popular deviation. but that was like my second vector ever!! so it couldn't be that good, kind of amateurish, right? so this is updated!! with all my new experience and technique.
basically its an example for anyone who wants to learn how to do vector images in photoshop. haha i meticulously labeled most of the layers and organized them nicely into groups and such. plus this is a pretty clean vector of mine, so all ages welcome!!
and remember, its a vector image so it can be infinitely resized, except the reference picture will get crummy
oh and you need photoshop in order view this correctly!! i used CS3 but it should work fine in the other versions! thanks alot! let me know if this comes in handy
this is great work, i love the colour and i really like the way the shirt looks, and an immaculate job on the hair....
i was checking out the file and noticed how rediculously well organized u are in your work... hahaha mine are all a huge mess of layers.
i noticed that every shape u have is its owan layer... you end up with a whole lotta layers that way when your work gets this detailed... if you use "the add to shape area (+)" and "subtract from shape area (-)" options for the pen tool.... essentially, you can have everything that is the same colour on one layer.
also, i must say its great to see artists helping artists. sharing your photoshop file is really cool.
hey thanks for the critique!! i'll give the add and subtract tools another shot, i used to use them but i guess i decided on liking that many layers. haha it has its pros and cons. and yeah i'm like you with the mess of layers, lol i organized this one after so it would be clearer for anyone looking! but eyelashes are the bane of my existance, top eyelashes, bottom lashes...it takes me so many tries then i just end up going with the simplest
